UP to observe ‘Tika Utsav’ from 11 to 14 April to control Covid-19

Lucknow,  09 April  (HS) :      The Yogi Government will be observing ‘Tika Utsav’ across the state from 11 to 14 April to control Covid-19 in Uttar Pradesh. This was announced by the Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath after Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s video conferencing on Thursday night.

CM Yogi asked the officials concerned to make proper and effective arrangements for the ‘Tika Utsav’ (vaccination festival) for which the PM has directed all the CMs of different states to observe it from  April 11, the Jayanti of Mahatma Jyoti Ba Phule, to April 14, the Jayanti of Baba Sahab Ambedkar.

Yogi also said that he will interact with the Mayors and the Corporators through  webinar with regards  to vaccination.

Earlier, CM Yogi participated in the PM’s video conferencing in connection with CORONA situation and the progress of vaccination.

The CM on the occasion informed the PM that the UP is making effective progress  in prevention  of Covid under able guidance of  the Prime Minister. He expressed  his gratitude to PM Modi and Union Home Minister  Amit Shah for extending  Centre’s help in strengthening  the health  infrastructure  in UP.

CM Yogi also informed the PM in details about the government’s arrangements to conrol corona virus in the state. He said that the facilities of covid beds with ventilators are proveded in all 75 districts  of UP.

Besides, better covid management, Integrated  Command and Control Centres are functional  in all the districts, he said adding that Test, Trace and Treat strategy are being followed  to control Covid. Public address system is being used to create mass awareness.

The CM also said that as many as 59000 surveillance  committees in rural  areas and 14000 committees in urban areas are formed. Over 80 lakh persons vaccinated in UP so far and record over five lakh vaccinated  on a single  day  on April  5.

PM Modi on the occasion clarified that there is no need of complete lockdown in the country. Sharing measures with the CMs of different states of the country on how to tackle the rising cases of Covid-19, the PM urged the people to observe ‘Tika Utsav’ from 11 to 14 April.
