KUPWARA, May 21 (HS): Jammu and Kashmir police today claimed to have arrested three youths who had purportedly posted photographs on the social media holding guns and had announced that they had joined militant group.
The trio was arrested from Gujarpatti Ganbugh area in Sogam Lolab in this north Kashmir’s Kupwara district.
According to the police a joint team of J&K Police and 28 Rashtriya Rifles (RR) launched a cordon-and-search-operation in Gujarpatti Ganbugh, in Kupwara district forest area.
During searches and exchange of firing all the three persons were caught alive along with weapons. The arrested are residents of Shalgund and Lalpora in Kupwara.
Pertinently on Wednesday night, the pictures showing the trio holding weapons had gone viral on social media.
