President Kovind announces Award of Service Medals/Gallantry Medals on the occasion of Republic Day..

New Delhi, Jan 25 On Eve of the Republic Day, the President of India has released the list of those recommended for police medals for making significant contributions to the Police, Home Guards and Civil Defense. Along with this, the names of 54 citizens who have made commendable contributions in the survival of the people have also been announced.

On the recommendation of the Ministry of Home Affairs, President Ramnath Kovind released this list today.

This time the Jeevan Raksha medals being will be given especially in all three categories. 7 have been selected for the Best Survival Medal, 8 for the Best Survival Medal and 39 for the Survival Medal.

President Shaurya Medal, Bravery Medal, Distinguished Service Medals have been announced in the list announced for outstanding contribution to police service. This time 4 policemen are being awarded Presidential Police Medals for gallantry. With this, 286 policemen will be awarded medals for gallantry, 93 for outstanding service and 657 for distinguished contribution. The medals will be awarded to the personnel of IB, CBI, NIA, State Police, BSF, CRPF, ITBP, SPG, SSB, RPF, NDRF and CISF for their distinguished contribution in the year 2019.

Similarly, 104 employees of the fire department have been selected for outstanding performance during service. 49 employees-civilians have also been selected for outstanding performance in Home Guards and Civil Defense.
