New Delhi, 05 July (HS) Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday called on President Ram Nath Kovind at Rashtrapati Bhavan and briefed him on issues of national and international importance.
The President’s official Twitter handle shared the details and picture of Prime Minister Modi and President Kovind. The meeting that lasted for about half an hour, was considered to be of much importance in view of the standoff on the India-China border.
The meeting took place after the Prime Minister’s visit to Leh on Saturday. After the martyrdom of 20 soldiers of the Indian Army in the violent clash between Indian and Chinese soldiers in the Galvan Valley of Ladakh on June 15, the Prime Minister himself visited there on Saturday to encourage the troops and take stock of the situation.
