Kolkata, 26 March (HS) : Following the ‘positive’ test reports of a suspected patient of Corona Virus in Kolkata, the total number of those suffering from the deadly COVID-19 in the city rose to 10 today causing serious concern to the state authorities about the spread of the disease.
According to reports, a 66 year old resident of Nayabad area on the Western outskirts of the city, who was admitted to a private hospital last week with early symptoms of Corona virus, was found suffering from the killer disease as his reports were found ‘positive’ today.
Though he has no record of travelling to or coming back from any foreign country recently, according to his familiy sources he went to Midnapore town recently in connection with a family gatherng.
‘We have been trying to ascertain whether this person came in contact with anyone in that gathering or afterwards with symptoms of Cora Virus’, the official sources said here this afternoon while taking every step for the treatment of the affected person and his immediate family members.
Earlier this week two other residents of the city who recently returned from London and Tehran were admitted to the city’s Infectious Disease hospital at Beliaghata after they were also found positive of carrying Corona Virus.
On 23 March a 58 year old resident of Dum Dum in North Kolkata died of COVID-19 to become the first victim of Corona Virus in the state.
Of the total 10 Covid-19 confirmed patients in West Bengal, three are women. But the condition of most of them are improving in isolation wards.
