The forest minister also directed to submit a proposal for carrying out Mega Sapling Plantation drive to be organized in the last week of July in association with the various agencies of the Capital. The proposal should clearly indicate the agency-wise targets along with locations for carrying out tree plantation with active participation of people especially children.
Hussain desired that the forest department may also immediately put up a proposal including time lines and agency-wise targeted plantation to be carried out in the monsoon season apart from Mega Sapling Plantation drive.
He stressed the need for ensuring maximum public participation for carrying out tree plantation in a big way in the monsoon season which is conducive for the plant growth and survival. This will go a long way in combating the ill effects of air pollution in Delhi.
