Manchester,28 May(HS): The English Premier League announced that four players were found positive in the coronavirus test in the latest batch of tests conducted by the league.
The league said in a statement, “The Premier League is confirming today that on Monday 25 May and Tuesday 26 May 1008 players and club staff were tested for Coronavirus. Of which, four players from three clubs were tested positive.”
He said, “Players or club employees who have been found positive in the test will now be self-isolated for seven days.”
Notably, the league had allowed players from all clubs to train in small groups last week and players have started training from Tuesday, after which 12 people have been found positive so far in the coronavirus test.
No matches have been played in the Premier League since March. However, the government has given the go-ahead from June 1 to resume the games.
