Dubai, August 27 (HS): Delhi Capitals head coach Ricky Ponting arrived in Dubai on Thursday for the upcoming Indian Premier League (IPL) 2020. Delhi Capitals shared a picture of Ponting and tweeted, “Welcome to Dubai.”
Earlier on Sunday, Indian players and support staff members of the Delhi team reached Dubai for the tournament.
The players are currently undergoing a seven-day quarantine, which is in line with the Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) issued by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI).
In addition, all players will undergo RT-PCR tests on the first day, third day, and sixth day of their seven-day quarantine, after which they will enter a bio-safe environment if the test results of all players come back negative.
Former Australian cricketer Ponting has also started his quarantine phase. Ponting tweeted, “My quarantine is officially underway at the hotel here for the next 6 days.”
The 13th edition of the IPL will be played from September 19 to November 10 in three UAE venues – Abu Dhabi, Sharjah and Dubai.
